Australia-Malaysia Institute Grants Round now open

The Australia-Malaysia Institute (AMI) invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for funding under the 2014-15 General Grants Program.

The objective of the Program is to provide financial assistance for outcome based projects, programs and initiatives which strengthen people-to-people and institutional links with Malaysia and deepen mutual understanding and cooperation between Australia and Malaysia.

For the 2014-15 Grants Program, the AMI has identified the following priority areas:
• Public Policy
• Education, including vocational education and training
• Media
• Women and girls

Quality projects in a sector not identified above, but that closely align with the objectives of the AMI, may still be considered.

The AMI General Grants Program is a two-stage open competitive selection process. The first stage is this call for Expressions of Interest and assessment and ranking by the AMI Board (in consultation with Post and the Secretariat). The top ranked applicants (constituting approximately twice the value of funds available for allocation) will be invited to proceed to Stage 2 and submit a full grant application. All processes are to be completed on-line through Smarty Grants.

The call for EOIs opens at 9am, Monday 10 February 2014 and close at 5pm, Wednesday 12 March 2014.

EOIs should be completed via the online application form. Access to the online application form and the application guidelines and can be obtained from the AMI website at www.dfat.gov.au/ami.
