Visits and Protocol Manager
Applicants are invited for the position of Visit and Protocol Manager within the Australian High Commission.
The successful applicant will be responsible for organizing all visit arrangements to Malaysia by senior Australian Government Officials, and managing protocol and diplomatic visas and accreditation issues.
The work can be demanding and requires the successful applicant to be motivated, confident, customer focused and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Good attention to detail and problem solving skills are essential. The successful applicant needs to work under limited supervision and demonstrate excellent communication skills in English.
Duties will include

Oversee and undertake all visit arrangements to Malaysia by senior Australian Government Officials, including airport facilitation, production of program booklet, and arranging appointments, accommodation, transport and catering.

Provide domestic visit program support for High Commissioner, Consul- General and the Political and Economic section staff within Malaysia. Manage the Australian High Commission contact database.

In conjunction with the Director of Cultural Relations, undertake support arrangements for exhibitions and visits by Australian performers and artists, including assisting with diplomatic processing and clearance of exhibition material.

Manage protocol and visa issues, including liaison with Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on diplomatic accreditation, diplomatic visas and national and state honors and awards.

Supervise the process of, and liaise where necessary, with other High Commissions and Embassies on official and private visa requirements.

Undertake special projects under the direction of the Consul-General.
Selection Criteria

A tertiary degree and work experience in public relations/marketing activities.

Knowledge about Malaysia’s general economy, geography, society and politics would be an added advantage.

Ability to manage major visits and high level liaison with Government and private stakeholders (airlines, hotels, catering and transport service providers).

Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Demonstrated ability to communicate in Bahasa Malay.

Good attention to detail and proven problem solving skills. Ability to be customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work as part of a team and work under limited supervision.

Good knowledge of internet and well-developed computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Salary level will be determined subject to the successful candidate’s skills and experience. The salary will be between RM3825 – RM5737 per month plus two months contractual bonus and other benefits. The successful applicant must be able to start immediately.
