Australia and Malaysia Celebrate Successful BRIDGE School Partnership Program
Pulau Ketam, 11 September 2026 – The Australian High Commission in Malaysia, together with Malaysia’s Ministry of Education and SMK Pulau Ketam, today celebrated the success of the 2025-2026 ASEAN-Australia Building Relationships through Intercultural Dialogue and Growing Engagement (BRIDGE) School Partnership Program, highlighting the strong and enduring education partnership between Australia and Malaysia.

On behalf of the Australian Government and the people of Australia, I extend my warmest congratulations to the Government and people of Malaysia on the occasion of Malaysia’s 69th Independence Day.
Australia and Malaysia share a longstanding friendship built on decades of mutual trust, cooperation and deep people-to-people connections. Our partnership began before Malaysia’s independence and has grown across trade and investment, education, defence and security, technology, innovation and healthcare. Since establishing our diplomatic presence in 1955, we have worked closely together to advance our shared interests and strengthen the ties between our people.

Australia Launches Australia Awards – Malaysia Semester Program to Support Future Leaders
The Australian High Commission in Malaysia is proud to launch the Australia Awards – Malaysia Semester Program, a pilot initiative that will provide financial support for more Malaysian students enrolled at an Australian transnational education institution in Malaysia to study in Australia. This program will allow undergraduate and postgraduate students in Malaysia to study in Australia for up to two semesters during their degrees.

Australia Celebrates Its Islamic History with Model of Adelaide City Mosque
The Australian High Commission in Malaysia, in partnership with the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, launched a detailed architectural model of the historic Adelaide City Mosque on Wednesday (13 May), highlighting Australia’s Islamic history and its shared commitment to cultural understanding and religious diversity with Malaysia.

Australia Marks 111 Years of Anzac Day with Malaysia
Australia today marked the 111th anniversary of ANZAC Day in Malaysia, with Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Her Excellency Ms Danielle Heinecke, leading a Dawn Service at Tugu Negara in Kuala Lumpur.
Along with the New Zealand High Commission in Malaysia, Australia commemorates ANZAC Day – one of the most sacred days in the Australian calendar – with commemorative services across Malaysia, including in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu.
