2014 ANZAC Day Commemorative Service in Kuala Lumpur and Sandakan, Sabah
KUALA LUMPUR
The Australian High Commission will host the 2014 Commemorative ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Military Annex of Cheras Road Christian Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur on Friday, 25 April 2014. The Service is open to members of the public and those attending are requested to be assembled by 6:15am for the service to commence at 6:30am.
It has become a custom each year on this day for the Governments and people of both Australia and New Zealand to commemorate their dead of all wars. ANZAC Day marks the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
Dress for the occasion will be smart casual for civilians (with medals if applicable) or ceremonial uniform with medals for military attendees. Guests are advised to apply mosquito repellent and carry a small torch. Candles will be provided for the service.
Following the service, attendees are invited to a traditional ‘gunfire breakfast’ at the Residence of the Australian High Commissioner at No 33, Jalan Langgak Golf, 55000 Kuala Lumpur.

SANDAKAN
The ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Sandakan is held at the Sandakan Memorial Park on Friday, 25 April 2014. This Service is also open to members of the public and those attending are requested to be assembled by 5:20am for the service to commence at 5:30am.
